Each room is set up for what children can do next.
Daily Programs run from 18 months to 5 years old. The rooms are built for play that carries a purpose, with both child-initiated and planned play. Teachers move through whole class activities, adult-led focused work, and time children choose themselves. Smart Boards support math, science, and language. The day follows the Early Years Foundation Stage from birth through five.
Before school, children can bring breakfast and play games while they wait for the day to start. After school brings snack, homework time, the playground, games, and arts and crafts. Minibuses pick up from local elementary schools and bring children back. It gives grade schoolers a place to land between the school bell and home.
Summer camp is for children who have finished kindergarten through age 12. Campers take field trips, run a ninja warrior obstacle course, and use the on-site Splash Pad. They extract DNA from a strawberry and play BINGO with senior citizens. Each child gets a BPPS t-shirt, and groups stay small.
Pre-K students take field trips built around the week's educational theme. A theme about community helpers might mean a visit to a fire station. A theme about growing things might mean a farm or a garden. The trip extends what children are already talking about in the classroom, so the learning carries out the door and back again.
